
The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Announces Donovan Murph as 2025 Bridge Builder Excellence Award Winner
Greenville, SC, April 18, 2025 — The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) proudly announces Donovan Murph as the 2025 Bridge Builder Excellence Award winner, presented by The Spinx Company. The Bridge Builder Excellence Award is presented to a current high school football player in the state of South Carolina who encourages excellence in the community, in the classroom and on the field. Donovan Murph was presented this prestigious award by Brad Edwards, CEO of the NFL Alumni Association at the sold-out 12th annual Enshrinement at Hotel Hartness on April 17, 2025.
Award Criteria:
Donovan Murph, a talented senior wide receiver from Irmo High School in Columbia, SC, is committed to playing at the University of South Carolina. Murph has collected a wide variety of football achievements, including 2x 5A First Team All-State, 2x First Team All-Region, 4-5A Offensive MVP & Player of the Year, and the Aun & McKay 2023 Outstanding Offensive Player award. Most notably, Murph has been recognized as the #1 wide receiver in South Carolina and is ranked among the Top 20 nationally. Beyond athletics, Murph has maintained a 4.127 GPA and is on track to earn a College Ready and Career Ready South Carolina Diploma Pathway Seals of Distinction. He is also a member of the Irmo High School Key Club where he volunteers his time mentoring at-risk boys at a local elementary school.
Donovan, alongside each statewide nominee, will receive a certificate of recognition for his accomplishments, be invited to celebrate #BBEA25Day on his social media platforms and in person, on May 9, 2025. In addition, as the winner of the award, Donovan will receive a scholarship, a certificate of excellence, and a special plaque to commemorate the honor.
Donovan is the 6th Bridge Builder Excellence Award Winner in its history and third consecutive winner that was committed to the University of South Carolina. The honor went to LaNorris Sellers from South Florence in 2023 and offensive tackle Josiah Thompson of Dillon in 2024.
