There is an official nomination period in the summer, official voting opportunities each fall, and the SCFHOF Board of Directors ultimately determines eligibility and honorees each year.
Induction ceremonies are typically held each April. The 2026 Enshrinement is scheduled for April 16, 2026 at Hotel Hartness in Greenville, SC.
Each summer we open up an opportunity to fill out a nomination form on our website to submit names for consideration. You can also nominate names during the first official voting period for the annual Class usually between September and December by submitting your write-in selections.
Voting for annual Classes usually are open on our website for everyone between September and January. There are two voting periods each cycle, a nomination ballot period, and the finalist ballot period. Voting for the annual Blanchard-Rogers Trophy, or SC collegiate player of the year, is open to everyone on the website usually between December and January of each cycle.
We currently honor 5- person induction classes annually, the Blanchard-Rogers Trophy (SC collegiate player of the year), Bridge Builder Excellence Award (SC high school football achievement award), and a Humanitarian of the Year.
The Blanchard-Rogers Trophy is the South Carolina “Heisman” and is given to the annual Collegiate Player of the Year. The Trophy is named after the two Heisman Trophy winners in college football history with South Carolina ties. Doc Blanchard of McColl, SC is the 1945 Heisman Trophy winner from Army West Point, and George Rogers won the Heisman while at the University of South Carolina. This award began in 2013 as the SC Collegiate Player of the Year before the current trophy was implemented for the 2016 college football season. The Blanchard-Rogers Trophy is created annually by local Greenville, SC based artist, Ryan Calloway of Creative Ironworks.
The Bridge Builder Excellence Award was created for our 2020 award cycle. The award honors a South Carolina high school football player who exhibits excellence on the field, in the classroom (3.2=/+ Core GPA), and in their community. Nominees for the award are submitted statewide by high school coaches and administrators each school year. Nomination period through our website usually spans between December and February. Top 3 Finalists are invited to the Annual Enshrinement Ceremony each April where they receive their scholarship awards and a winner is announced. All nominees of an award cycle are honored annually at our BBEADay Celebration in May.
This award is presented annually by David Wyatt, the Executive Director of the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame. The Humanitarian of the Year award honors someone who best exemplifies the mission and ideals of the organization and gives back to his or her community through their own service and support. Usually, the award goes to someone who uses the game of football or is connected to the game in some way to benefit others.
