Greenville, SC, March 6, 2026 – The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) proudly
announces Emily Beamer as the 2025 Humanitarian of the Year. This honor recognizes individuals
who make a meaningful impact on the South Carolina community while embodying the values of
leadership, service, and commitment that the SCFHOF seeks to promote. Beamer will receive the
award at the 13th annual Enshrinement Ceremony at Hotel Hartness on April 16, 2026.
Emily Beamer, the wife of University of South Carolina head football coach Shane Beamer, has
become a beloved presence within the Gamecock football family. Together, they are the proud parents
of three children: daughters Sutton and Olivia and son Hunter.
Emily has been a constant source of encouragement and support for both her family and the
players within the program. Among players and staff, Emily is especially known for baking
cookies for players every Thursday during the football season. What began as a simple gesture has
grown into a meaningful tradition that symbolizes the program’s sense of family and care. The
tradition was even highlighted in the Netflix docuseries SEC Football: Any Given Saturday,
showcasing the personal relationships that help define the culture of college football.
Emily’s warmth and generosity have made her a fan favorite among Gamecock players and
supporters alike. In 2024, the South Carolina team celebrated her birthday with a heartfelt
postgame locker room serenade, a moment that reflected the appreciation players have for her
presence and encouragement.
In addition to her support of the football program, Emily remains deeply committed to serving
the local community. Through the Beamer Family Foundation, a Columbia, South Carolina based
nonprofit, she helps support children in Richland County by partnering with local elementary
schools and Prisma Children’s Hospital. The foundation focuses on addressing important
educational and medical needs, providing resources that help children and families thrive. Emily
also serves on the board of Prisma Children’s Hospital, further demonstrating her dedication to
improving outcomes for children across the region. The foundation are also big sponsors of the
USC Dance Marathon, which is the largest student-run philanthropic organization in South
Carolina.
Through her acts of kindness, commitment to service, and genuine care for those around her,
Emily Beamer exemplifies the spirit of the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Humanitarian
of the Year Award.
