A.J. Green

AJ Green, born in Summerville, South Carolina, began his football journey at Summerville High School. He continued his athletic career at the University of Georgia, quickly establishing himself as one of the most electrifying wide receivers in college football. During his collegiate career from 2008 to 2010, Green garnered widespread acclaim for his combination of size, speed, and hands, which made him a dominant force in the SEC. He earned unanimous All-American honors in 2009 and 2010, was named First Team All-SEC twice, and was the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2008. Green finished his time at Georgia with an impressive 2,619 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns, setting multiple school records and establishing himself as a future NFL star.

Drafted fourth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, Green quickly made an impact at the professional level. Over ten seasons in the NFL, he earned seven Pro Bowl selections, was a two-time 2nd team All-Pro player, and was named to the PFWA (Pro Football Writers of America) NFL All-Rookie Team. Green produced over 10,000 receiving yards in his career, becoming one of the Bengals’ all-time leaders in receiving statistics.

Outside of his playing achievements, AJ Green has given back to those who have been influential in his life. In 2015, Green endowed three scholarships: one for a student-athlete on the Georgia football team and two for needs-based students attending Georgia. In 2019, Green donated money to elementary school teachers in his hometown of Summerville. Green’s legacy both on and off the field cements his status as a standout figure worthy of honor and recognition.
